Marie Louisa Egle nee Raible

1850 - 1902

Mrs. Louisa Egle, aged 51 years, died March 25, 1902, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Carrie Meinhard, Jones Street, with whom she had made her home for the prior seven years, during which most of the time she was an invalid.

For many years Mrs. Meinhardt was a practical nurse, long before Watertown had St. Mary's Hospital and before the hospital would be staffed with trained nurses. Her services were constantly in demand, and faithfully and well did she attend the sick and needy.

Daughter of George and Nanette Egle.  George died less than two weeks after Mary Louise.

Born in Buchau, Wurttenberg.

She was well known to many, having lived in the city in childhood, and then returning to the city seven years before her death.

She was much beloved by her many friends who, during her long illness, shared their sincere sympathy.

Her funeral was at St. Henry’s and burial was in the parish cemetery.
