Lorraine Wollinger

1926 – 2009

 

 

JUNEAU - Lorraine B.L. Wollinger, 82, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at her home.

 

The former Lorraine Nemitz was born on Aug. 10, 1926, in New Butler, daughter of John and Florence (Kaebisch) Nemitz.  On Nov. 8, 1947, she married Joseph Wollinger at St. Henry Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1979.

 

Lorraine had been employed at the former Village Blacksmith of Watertown.  She had been a nursing assistant at Marquardt Memorial Manor and for Dodge County Home Health Care.  She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and Dodge County Home-makers, and had been a 4-H leader for Indian Garden and Watertown Badgers 4-H clubs.

 

Survivors include her children, Tom Marquardt of Fond du lac, Susan (Richard) Blatter of Lake Mills, Linda (Richard) Meitner of Watertown, James Wollinger of Watertown, Diane Wollinger of Watertown, Randy (Kathy) Wollinger of Juneau and Nancy (Jon) Berndt of Watertown; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her sisters and brothers, Florence (Jack) Rhode of Burlington, John Nemitz of Albuquerque, N.M., Esther Madison of Helenville, Lucille Zimmerman of Watertown, Joan (Earl) Zimmerman of Johnson Creek and Leroy (Joyce) Nemitz of Watertown; a brother-in-law, Ernest Omet; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was further preceded in death by a great-grandchild; her parents; a sister, Alice Omet; and a brother, George Nemitz.

 

Mom was a great cook and loved to share.  She enjoyed crafting and watching the birds.  We will miss her dearly.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church with Father Brian Wilk officiating.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

 

Family and friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service and on Monday after 10 a.m. at the church.
