Stella O. Coughlin

1911 - 2008

 

Stella O. Coughlin, 96, of Watertown, died March 26, 2008, at Marquardt Memorial Manor following a brief illness.

 

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown with the Rev. Father Thomas Marr officiating.  Burial will be in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery.

 

Friends may call to pay their respects at the church on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.

 

Memorials are suggested to St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown.

 

The Pederson Funeral Home of Watertown is in charge of arrangements.

 

The former Stella Olive Stangler was born July 31, 1911, in the town of Emmet, daughter of Albert and Regina (Pitterle) Stangler. She married Ervin Coughlin on May 21, 1938, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown.

 

Stella farmed with her husband in the town of Emmet for many years. She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown, its Rosary and Altar Society, and a 50-year member of the Dodge County Homemakers Club.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Sister Lucille Coughlin of Wauwatosa and Carolyn (John) Geason of Hartland; four sons, Gerald (Bonnie) Coughlin of Watertown, Eugene (Vicki) Coughlin of Watertown, Thomas (Sharon) Coughlin of Lake Isabella, Calif., and Kenneth Coughlin of Parker, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 22, 1991; three brothers; and three sisters.
