Isabel Winger

1872 - 1946


Funeral services for Mrs. Isabel Winger, 74, widow of Severin Winger, will be held here Saturday afternoon.  Mrs. Winger died yesterday afternoon in St. Mary’s hospital after an illness of seven weeks.  Her home was at 132 Dewey Avenue.


Born in the town of Emmet on Jan. 17, 1872, her maiden name was Isabel Bentert.  She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bentert.  On Oct. 31, 1897 she married Mr. Winger at Oconomowoc and shortly after they came here to live.  Mr. Winger died in 1938.


Surviving are two brothers, Herman and Oscar Bentert, this city; two nieces, Mrs. John Wahl, this city; Mrs. Paul Rabbach, Seattle, Wash., and one nephew, Paul Bentert, this city.

Mrs. Winger was a lifelong member of St. Luke’s Lutheran church and had also been a member of the Ladies Aid Society of that parish.


Funeral services tomorrow will be at 2:30 p. m. at the Hafemeister home and at 3 p. m. in St.! Luke’s church, the Rev. I. G. Uetzmann officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. 


Friends may call at the funeral home this evening and tomorrow up to the time of the funeral to pay their respects.
