Berndena Strache, 99, formerly of 204 1/2 Union St, Johnson Creek, died this morning at the Beverly Terrace Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday with burial Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The former Berndena Oestreich was born on 15 March 1886, in the town of Watertown, daughter of Carl and Mathilda Oestreich. On 16 March 1905 she married Edward W Strache in St John's Lutheran Church in Watertown. He preceded her in death on 4 July 1963. She and her husband farmed in the Ixonia and Pipersville area.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Erwin (Vilera) Krueger of Watertown and Mrs. Dale (Lenora) Goodnight of Jensen Beach, Florida, one son Edward (Pearl) of Clyman, 12 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren, one great-great-grandson.

She was the last member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sylvia Buske, 2 sons, Omar and Wilbert, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
