The funeral of Ferdinand Kufahl, 1202 Louisa St, whose death took place Wednesday at the age of 73 years, will be held Sunday afternoon with services at the home at 1:30 o'clock followed by services in St Mark's Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock. 

 

The Rev Julius Klingmann will officiate and interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. 

 

Mr. Kufahl was born in Germany 3 September 1856 and came to the United States in 1873.  For some time he made his home with relatives in this city and then went to Minnesota and also to Nebraska.  After a few years he returned to Wisconsin and his marriage to Hulda Schumacher took place in Ixonia on 3 December 1880.  In 1881 they came to Watertown to make their home.

 

For the past 42 years he was a successful truck gardener.  Although he had been in failing health for many years, he remained active until the last.  His wife died 30 May 1925 and a daughter, Alma died in 1928.  A son, Ferdinand died in infancy.

 

Surviving are four daughters and two sons as follows:  Mrs. George Burdick, Mrs. John Nickel, Mrs. Carl Herschi of this city, and Miss Josephine, and Fred and Ernst Kufahl at home.  There are also 9 grandchildren.  Two sisters, Mrs. Fred Roth and Miss Mathilda Kufahl of this city also survive.
