Erleen Hendrickson

1914-2012

 

Erleen C. Hendrickson, 98, of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Marquardt Memorial Manor.

 

The former Erleen C. Tewksbury was born Jan. 27, 1914, daughter of the late Wilbert and Hilda (Hedlund) Tewksbury.  She was a 1932 graduate of Cumberland High School.

 

Erleen Hendrickson was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Hendrickson, in 1966.  Also preceding her were a brother, Leroy, and two sisters, Evelyn and Grace. Her first husband, Hugh David Olson, died in 1952 in Cumberland.

 

Early on, while a Cumberland resident, Erleen taught ballet, tap and ballroom dancing, donating all the proceeds of her recitals to the March of Dimes and local charities.

 

Later, after moving to Watertown, she was employed until her retirement as a sales clerk in the J.C. Penney store on Main Street.

 

Survivors include three children, Penne (Frank) Curella of Henderson, Nev., Jon (Barbara) Olson of Watertown and David S. Olson of Madison; a sister, Jacquelyn M. Olson of Fall Creek; and six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

 

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

 

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown with the Rev. Ron Kral officiating.
