08 23       Watertown boasts a laundry   WR

01 14       G. J. Sprague, who formerly conducted the laundry in First Street, now the property of Ulrich & Dieter, died at Long Beach, California, last week Thursday, aged 57 years.  Before coming to Watertown Mr. Sprague was engaged in the newspaper business at Mauston.   WG

The Barker Lumber Co. Destroyed by Fire:   Deiter & Ullrich of the New Method laundry, sustained considerable of a loss.  The roof over the rear half of the building was burned away and the boiler and machinery beneath were badly damaged by water and fire.  The proprietors of the laundry were fortunate in having their loss partially covered by insurance.  Deiter & Ullrich will take care of their laundry business just as if nothing happened.  In fact the wagons were out next morning making the usual collections.   WG

02 01       NEW BUSINESS CHANGES

Max Ullrich has sold his interest in the New Method Laundry to his partner Art Dieter, who will conduct the business alone.  Mr. Ullrich has purchased the Leschinger shoe store at the corner of Main and North Fourth street, and will take possession of it in about three weeks.   WG

ARCHIE BROTHERS PURCHASE OLD LAUNDRY PROPERTY

 

Archie Brothers have purchased the New Method Laundry property at 218 First Street and are fitting it up for their monument business.  The Farmers Equity Exchange has purchased the old site of Archie Brothers at the foot of Second Street, on which they intend to erect a building in a short time.   Aug 12, WG
