Eleanor P. Stangler

 

1918- 2017

 

POYNETTE -- Eleanor P. Stangler, age 99, of Poynette, formerly of Sun Prairie and Watertown, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at Divine Savior Health Care in Portage.

 

A private family service will be held.  Burial will take place at St. Henry Catholic Cemetery in Watertown at a later date.

 

Eleanor Patricia Maher was born on March 14, 1918, in Hartford, the daughter of Stephen and Annie (nee Sharkey) Maher. She was united in marriage to Leon Stangler.

 

Eleanor is survived by her children, David (Donna) Stangler of Watertown, Mary Dolan of Hudson, Steven (Karen) Stangler of Reeseville, Barbara Stangler of Madison and Paul Stangler of Poynette; grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Wesemann, Todd (Renee) Dolan, Brenda (Ben) Hobgood, John Dolan, Kelli (Jarrod) Stewart, Troy Dolan, Tina (Dan) Alexander, Brad (Julie Acker) Stangler, Jill (Steve) Mewis and Justin Paskey; great-grandchildren, Calley and Cassidy Wesemann, Zach and Olivia Dolan, Amelia and Cavan Hobgood, Noah and Jonah Stewart, Jason, Jocelyn, Audrey and Aaron Alexander, Eric Wargowsky and Nathan Woods; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Kathy Custer; as well as four sisters and six brothers.  She was the last member of her immediate family.
