Mary G. Sorce

1925 - 2009

 

Mary G. Sorce, 83, of Watertown, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away at her home on Thursday evening, Jan. 29, 2009.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Father Brian Wilk officiating.  Burial will be at St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery in Redgranite.

 

A visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

 

The former Mary Grace Salamone was born in Redgranite on July 2, 1925, daughter of John and Teresa (Salamone) Romanille.  On July 3, 1948, she married Dominic Sorce at St. Rita Catholic Church in Milwaukee.

 

Mary was a 1943 graduate of Redgranite High School and had been employed by the Milwaukee Public Schools.

 

She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown.

 

Mary was a traditional Italian cook and was well known for her Italian cookies.  She also enjoyed crocheting.

 

Survivors include her husband, Dominic Sorce of Watertown; two daughters, Nancy (Tom) Kruziki of Peoria, Ill., and Theresa (Jim) Holtzbauer of Neshkoro; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Victoria Maglio of Menomonee Falls; a sister-in-law, Santa Gigante of Menomonee Falls; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a number of brothers and sisters.
