Susan K. Simon

1941 - 2016

 

Susan K. Simon, 75, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc, following a lingering illness.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church with Father Patrick Wendler celebrating.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may call on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Henry Catholic Church or the charity of one's choice.

 

Susan K. Mayer was born on March 5, 1941, in Kaukauna, the daughter of Irmgard (Wrede) and A. Edward Mayer. On Sept. 1, 1962, she married John F. Simon at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kaukauna. They moved to Watertown where, together, they raised six children.

 

Susan later returned to school to be a registered nurse. She practiced at Countryside Home in Jefferson for 16 years and then at Clement Manor in Greenfield.

 

She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church. Throughout her life, Susan did her best to serve humankind, always with the guidance of the "Holy Spirit."

 

Susan is survived by her children Daniel (Angie) Simon of Poynette, Mark Simon of Canyon Country, Calif., David (Rochelle) Simon of Verona, Jane Simon of Fort Atkinson, Anne (Chris) Gibes of Oconomowoc and Paul Simon of Waukesha; three grandchildren, Kaylee and Andy Simon and Jack Gibes; a sister Jane (Jim) Conway; a brother William Mayer; sisters-in-law Ruth (Edward) Barnes and Mary (David) Beaster; brothers-in-law Jim (Kathy) Simon and Don (Judy) Simon; cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1999, her parents, a brother Steve Mayer and brothers-in-law Jerry and Michael Simon.
