Dr. Peter Scholler

1950

 

Dr. Peter Scholler, husband of the former Frances Ruesch of this city, died April 26, 1950, at Hancock, MI, where he had practiced optometry for many years. He retired at 81. His funeral was held in Watertown.

 

Dr. Scholler was a native of Ashford, WI, and had lived in Hancock for 50 years. He began his business career in Watertown where he learned the jewelry trade at the Salick Jewelry Store.

 

It was here that he married Miss Ruesch, the wedding taking place in St. Henry's Catholic Church 59 years ago.

 

Surviving were his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Barmore, Niagara Falls, N. Y.; three sons, Raymond Scholler, Stevens Point; Dr. C. L. Scholler, Big Rapids, Francis H. Scholler, Wauwatosa; three brothers, Dr. Joseph Scholler, Janesville; Michael Scholler, Milwaukee; and Henry Scholler, Random Lake.

 

Two sisters-in-law survive, the Misses Elizabeth and Amelia Ruesch, Watertown.

 

Services were held at St. Henry's Catholic Church with the Rev. A. H. Foltz officiating and interment was in St. Henry's Cemetery.
