Early yesterday morning Joseph Scheiber passed away at his home, 214 Cole Street, where he had resided since moving from his farm in the town of Emmet to this city a few years ago.  Mr. Scheiber, though not in the best of health for over a year, was up and around as usual on Tuesday, but towards Wednesday morning he became suddenly ill and died within a short time.

He was born October 7, 1851, in Austria, and when seven years of age came to this country with his parents and located in the town of Emmet.  June 6, 1877, he married Miss Gertrude Gahlman of the town of Clyman who survives him with two sons and two daughters, Joseph Scheiber and Walter Scheiber of the town of Emmet, and Mrs. Isadora Fendt and Mrs. Frank Kreuziger of this city.  He is a brother of Frank Scheiber of this city, and Harry Scheiber of the town of Emmet.  His funeral will take place Saturday morning at 10o'clock from St. Henry's Catholic Church.

Mr. Scheiber was one of the beet-known and most highly-esteemed residents of Watertown.  He was a whole-souled, generous man and led the life of a true Christian.  His death is truly mourned by all who knew him as that of a good citizen, a kind neighbored a most devoted husband and father.
