Mary T. Sabourin

1935 - 2018

Mary T. Sabourin, 83, Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at Marquardt Health Center.

Mary was born on Feb. 10, 1935, in Watertown, the daughter of Frank and Ruth (Klecker) Hillebrand.  Mary grew up in Lake Mills and graduated from Lake Mills High School.  She married the love of her life, John Sabourin, on Oct. 26, 1957, at Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Mills and the Lord blessed their marriage with three children.

First and foremost, Mary was a woman of faith.  She was a devoted Catholic her entire life and regularly attended Mass.  She and her husband always sat near the front of the church.  Mary’s family was also very important to her.

She spent her working years caring for her three children.  She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Her loving family fondly remembers great times spent at Mary and John’s condo in Watertown.  For leisure, she enjoyed taking care of her yard.  She also enjoyed playing croquet and was very competitive in that regard.  In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards, bingo and Wii bowling with her friends at Marquardt.  She was a loving mother and good friend and will be dearly missed.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John; her two sons, Paul and Michael; five grandchildren, Nick, Adam (Rachael), Aaron (Melissa), Amisha and Tayler; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving daughter Christine Pero.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Watertown.  Fr. Miro Szynal will officiate the service.

Mary will be laid to rest in St. Henry’s Cemetery at a later date.
