Mary Roethle

1957 - 2005

 

 

Mary Therese Roethle, 48, of Victoria, Texas, formerly of Watertown, died July 31, 2005, at her home after a worldly and courageous battle with HIV/AIDS, following an accidental exposure.

 

A memorial service was held at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Watertown with the Rev. Bernard Rott officiating.  Burial was St. Henry’s Cemetery.

 

Mary was born May 13, 1957, in Watertown, daughter of John and Grace (Schroedl) Roethle. She attended St. Henry’s Grade School, was a 1975 graduate of Watertown High School and a 1978 graduate of ELVN School of Nursing in Madison, Wis.  In 1987, she received her registered nurse degree in Madison.  She had been employed at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau, Wis., and most recently, worked as a registered nurse for Victoria City-County Health Department Special Services - HIV/AIDS Department in Texas.

 

Mary touched many lives with her strength, generosity, kind nature and passion for helping others.  She also cared for many others through her nursing services at Victoria Home Health Agency.

 

Mary enjoyed traveling.  She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.  She will no longer suffer and will never be forgotten.

 

Surviving are her parents, John and Grace Roethle of Watertown; her caring and devoted daughter, Nicole Roethle of Victoria; two sisters, Sandy (Tom) Werner of Watertown and Pat (Gary) McFatridge of Bishop; two brothers, Fred (Jean) Roethle of Watertown and her twin brother, Joe (Linda) Roethle of Green Bay, Wis.; a special friend, T. Zesch of Victoria.

 

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
