Frank Motl

1838 - 1929

Frank Motl died last Saturday morning at the home of his son, Edward Motl, 418 North Sixth Street.  In April, 1838 he was born in Germany, and 64 years ago came to America, locating on a farm near this city, and later in the town of Clyman, where he farmed till about 30 years ago, when he located in Watertown.  His wife, formerly Rosalie Roffeis, died about 32 years ago.  He is survived by one daughter, and six sons, Mrs. Albert Metzger of Clyman; John of Tappen, North Dakota; Adolph of Chicago; Harry of Beloit; William of Janesville; Lee of LaCrosse; and Edward of this city.  His funereal took place Tuesday morning from St. Henry’s Catholic church., and his remains were interred in St. Henry’s cemetery.  Mr. Motl’s death is mourned by a large circle of friends as that of a most worthy Christian man.
