Adele Meyers

1912 - 2000

 

Adele A. Meyers, 87, of Watertown, died on February 20, 2000, at Watertown Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

 

Funeral services were held at St. Henry’s with the Rev. Thomas Marr of St. Bernard's officiating. Burial was in St. Henrys Cemetery.

 

Memorials were to be made to St. Henry's Parish Center.

 

The former Adele Herro was born September 29, 1912, in Watertown, daughter of Joseph and Elisabeth (Sahide) Herro. She married George Meyers on October 26, 1938, in Watertown. She was a graduate of St. Henry's Elementary School and a 1930 graduate of Watertown High School. She attended the former Northwestern College in Watertown and was a 1934 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was a school teacher at Reeseville High School and St. Henry’s, St. Bernard's and Lincoln elementary schools. She was also a substitute teacher in the Watertown School District.

 

Meyers was a member of St. Henry’s and had served as church organist for 18 years. She was a former member of its Christian Mothers, Watertown Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and AARP Rock River Chapter.
