George Markl

1936 - 2005

 

George B. Markl, 68, of Watertown, died January 24, 2005, at his home.

 

Funeral services were held at St. Henry’s with the Rev. Bernard Rott officiating.

 

Burial was in the parish cemetery.

 

The Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service assisted the family.

 

George was born on February 5, 1936, in Watertown, son of Frank and Leona (Gritzbach) Markl. On June 25, 1966, he married the former Carole Ann Harris at St. Henry’s.

 

George was a graduate of St. Henry’s School and Watertown Senior High School. He had been employed at the former Owen Glove Lining Company, Seaman Siding Company and with the City of Watertown Street Department for 31 years. He also worked part time at the city yard waste site for several years.

 

George was a member of St. Henry’s, Watertown Moose Lodge No. 830, Knights of Columbus and Watertown Elks Lodge No. 666.
