Ferdinand C. Dittmann

1871 - 1940

 

Ferdinand C. Dittmann, 216 Lynn Street, died Thursday afternoon at his home following an illness which had confined him to bed the past three weeks.  Death came to him at 3:25 o’clock.

 

Mr. Dittmann was born in Berlin, Germany, December 25, 1871, a son of Christ and Minna Dittmann.  He came to Watertown with his parents when he was six months-old and had lived here since.  He was a cigarmaker by trade and later did building work with the mason firm of Hoeft and Laabs.

 

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Biefeld, this city; four sons, George and Ralph, this city; Roy, Milwaukee, and Frank, at home.  There are 20 grandchildren and one great grandchild.  There are two sisters, Mrs. E. Malloy, and Mrs. Robert Clark, both of Milwaukee.  Four brother.; preceded him in death and his mother died three year ago.  His youngest brother, Herman, died a year ago.

 

The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p. m. from the Nowack Funeral Home, the Rev. F. W. Lemke officiating.  Burial will be in St. Henry’s cemetery.

 

Friends may call at the funeral home to pay their respects Saturday from 3 to 9 p. m. and Sunday up to the time of the service.
