Margaret K. Bulthuis

1918 - 2011

 

Margaret K. Bulthuis, 93, of Watertown, passed away at her residence at Zinzendorf Hall in Watertown on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 18, 2011.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Father Jorge Miramontes presiding.  Burial will be in St. Henry Catholic Cemetery, also in Watertown.

 

Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.  Memorials may be directed to the church or to the American Cancer Society.

 

The former Margaret Katherine Sommers was born in the town of Trenton on Feb. 13, 1918, daughter of Fred and Margaret Katherine (Holbach) Sommers.  On July 24, 1937, she married Paul Bulthuis at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam.

 

She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and enjoyed cake decorating, ceramics and rug hooking.

 

Margaret is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (Carl) Sartwell of Sedona, Ariz.; a daughter-in-law, Dolores (Ken) Stegall of Reeseville; eight grandchildren, Craig (Robin) Stock, Peter Stock, Lisa (Andrew) Njaa, David Bulthuis, Tricia (Bill) Meyer, John (Tina) Sorenson, Dan Sorenson, and Jill (Dan) Petersen; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul, on March 17, 1991, and a son, Paul, on Dec. 9, 1995.
