Kris (Pitterle) Erdman, contributor:   Submitting pictures of the Johann (Rosalia Schlinger) Roffeis family in which he is pictured along with his adult brothers and sisters.  Johann and Rosalia came here from Austria (Bohemia) around 1865.  Also a Vincent (Francesca) Kreuziger family picture in which my grandmother Mary (Kreuziger) Roffeis is pictured with her adult brothers and parents. Vincent and Francesca also came here from the same area in Bohemia around the same time. They were some of the early parishioners and pioneer farmers.

Johan and Rosalia were my great-grandparents. They were married in 1866 in Landskron, Bohemia (Austria) and emigrated to Watertown that same year. They became parishioners on arrival at St. Henry's. John P. was my grandfather.

My mother Margaret (Roffeis) Pitterle was John and Mary's daughter and married my dad Ervin Pitterle in July of 1941 at St. Henry's. My husband Bob and I were also married at St. Henry's on April 22, 1967, so my roots were firmly planted at St. Henry's Parish and School.
