Marion Wiegand

1917 - 2006

 

Marion I. Wiegand, 88, of Watertown, died on January 19, 2006, at Marquardt Memorial Manor.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Stephen P. Savides officiating.  Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

The former Marion Sommerfeld was born Sept. 5, 1917, in Watertown, daughter of Emil and Emma (Leschinger) Sommerfeld. She married George W. Wiegand on March 26, 1944, at First Congregational United Church of Christ.

 

She was a 1935 graduate of Watertown High School and member of First Congregational United Church of Christ.  She had been employed as a bookkeeper at Klink Inc. and later for Wisconsin Wet Goods.

 

Survivors include a sister, Florence Grosenick of Watertown; a nephew, Robert (Mary) Grosenick of Eau Claire; a niece, Catherine (Mark) Krupinski of Rice Lake; other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Margaret.
