Vivian M. Riemer

1914 - 2010

 

Vivian “Darcy” M. Riemer, 96, of Watertown, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Marquardt Memorial Manor due to the infirmities of age.

 

She was born in Farmington on July 11, 1914, daughter of Louis and Frances (Mondell) Fernholz.  Vivian married Louis Riemer on Aug. 18, 1932, in Rockford, Ill.  She and her husband operated Riemer Sand and Gravel for many years.  She also was employed at a number of other businesses.

 

Vivian was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and a former member of the Wethonkitha Club Ladies Auxiliary.  She had been a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout den mother. 

 

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Hacker of Three Lakes and Donna (William) Brooking of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; a son-in-law, Dennis Monroe of Oshkosh; 13 grandchildren; three foster grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.  She is further survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband on Dec. 16, 1977; a son, Louis Jr. on May 27, 1982; a daughter, Lois Monroe on Jan. 17, 2010; four brothers and one sister.

 

Funeral services will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Anthony Schultz officiating.  Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday after 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

Memorials would be appreciated to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Marquardt Memorial Manor or Marquardt Hospice.  Vivian was a nurturer, caring for friends in need, always willing to help out at anytime.
