Carol J. Pubanz

1950- 2016

 

Carol J. Pubanz, 65, of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Rainbow Hospice Care in Johnson Creek following a courageous battle with cancer.

 

Carol Jean Pubanz was born on Dec. 14, 1950, to the late Ruth (Russell) Pubanz and Rheinhold Pubanz.  She attended Oconomowoc High School and was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown.  Throughout her struggles, her faith and trust in the Lord never faltered.  Carol’s favorite pastimes included planting flowers, baking, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and spending time on the beach with Kathy.  

 

Carol is survived by her son, Jason (Sue) Rupnow of Watertown; her daughter, Arica (Ted) Therrien of Brant, Mich.; five grandchildren, Katrina, Brian and Bradley Rupnow, and Angela and Raychel Rupnow- Therrien; four step-grandchildren, Emily, Gabriel, Elizabeth and Lilly Therrien; three sisters, Eyleene Boozer of Virginia Beach, Va., Shirley Nieman of Georgia and Kathy (Will) Burds of Gahanna, Ohio; sister-in-law, Betty Pubanz of Georgia, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne and Ernest Pubanz and sister Mary Wismer.

 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown with the Rev. Karl Walther officiating.  Internment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service. Donations may be made to St. Mark’s Organ Fund.
