Dorothy Person

1911 - 2003

 

Dorothy B. Person, 92, of 1141 Hus Drive, formerly of 301 S. Warren St., Watertown, died on July 5, 2003, at her home.

 

Funeral services will be held at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Michael Jensen officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

Memorials may be directed to Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown.

 

The Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is in charge of arrangements.

 

The former Dorothy Schwartz was born May 7, 1911, in the town of Ixonia, daughter of Louis and Ida (Jaeger) Schwartz. In 1930, she married Arthur Dollase. He preceded her in death in 1947. In 1965, she married William Person. He also preceded her in death in 1981.

 

Dorothy was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church and its ladies aid. She was a very active volunteer at Bethesda Lutheran Thrift Shop in Watertown.

 

Surviving are three sons, Dallas (Constance) Dollase of Camp Hill, Pa., Wayne (Ellen) Dollase of Pacific Palisades, Calif., and Arthur (Maureen) Dollase of Coon Rapids, Minn.; two daughters, Arlene Snyder of Davis, Calif., and Marie (Roger) Theder of Maraga, Calif.; a stepson, William (Sue) Person of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Anita Braunschweig of Watertown; other relatives and friends.

 

She was further preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Gerhard, Rudolph and Alex Schwartz.
