Alice F. Pautz

1916 - 2003

 

Alice F. Pautz, 87, of 1020 Hill St., Watertown, formerly of 1121 Highland Ave, died February 15, 2003, at Marquardt Memorial Manor in Watertown.

 

Funeral services were held at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Watertown with the Rev. Stephen Savides officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Watertown.

 

The former Alice Hilgendorf was born February 5, 1916, in Watertown, daughter of Arthur and Lora (Manke) Hilgendorf. She married Charles Graf on July 22, 1939, in Watertown. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1967.

 

She married Raymond Erdmann on July 1, 1972, in Watertown. He preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 1989.

 

She then married Norman F. Pautz on April 21, 1990, in Watertown. He also preceded her in death on November 6, 1998.

 

Alice was a 1933 graduate of Watertown Senior High School. She had been employed as secretary for the superintendent of the Watertown School District from 1964 until retiring in 1975. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, AARP Evening Chapter No. 3056 and the Saturday Club. Alice volunteered at the Octagon House in Watertown and for the Meals on Wheels Program.

 

Surviving were two daughters, Janice (Roger) Willeford of Janesville and Patty (Donald) Schwefel of Watertown; four grandchildren, Beth (Michael) McNamara of San Mateo, Calif., Steven (Sarah) Willeford of Milton, Amy (Matthew) Kranz of Watertown and Jeffrey Schwefel of Lebanon; three great-grandchildren, Brynden Willeford, Ryan and Tatum McNamara; a nephew, Joel Hilgendorf; other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Arthur Hilgendorf.
