Augusta Nowack Dies Last Night
Life Long Resident of
City is Stricken at Family Home
Mrs. Augusta Nowack, 1137 Main Street, widow of Frank Nowack, died at her home last evening. Her death followed a lingering illness and
was due also to general infirmities of age.
She was the former
Augusta Michaelis.
She was born in Watertown on July 27, 1857, a daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. William Michaelis. All her life was spent in Watertown. She married Mr. Nowack
on Nov. 8, 1874. He preceded her in
death in 1932.
Surviving her are
two daughters and two sons; Mrs. Ida Zimdars, Milwaukee;
Mrs. Ernst Mueller, LaCrosse; Herman T. Nowack and Frank Nowack, this
city. One grown son, Fred preceded her
in death.
There are three
grandchildren, Mrs. C. H. Tidd, Sun Prairie; Herbert Zimdars,
Madison; and Pvt. George Zimdars, Camp Harahan, New
Orleans, La. Three great grandchildren
also survive. There is one brother, Fred
Michaelis, this city.
Mrs. Nowack was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran church. She was the oldest honorary member of St.
Mark’s Ladies Aid society in which she was active for many years.
The funeral will be
held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Nowack
funeral home, with services at 2:30 o’clock in St. Mark’s church. The Rev. Julius Klingmann
and the Rev. William A. Eggert will officiate.
Burial will be in Oak
Hill cemetery.
Friends may call at
the funeral home to pay their respects Friday starting at 3 p.m. and Saturday
up to the time of the service.
