John Mitchell

1915 - 2005

 

John A. Mitchell, 89, of Juneau, formerly of Milford, died February 11, 2005, at Clearview Long Term Care and Rehab in Juneau.

 

Funeral services were held at Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown with the Rev. Lee Meissner officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Watertown.

 

John was born Sept. 26, 1915, in Brookfield, son of Dean and Gladys (Ormond) Mitchell. He married the former Esther Garvens on June 24, 1943, in Brookfield. He farmed in Pipersville for many years and more recently in the Milford area. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown, Farm Bureau, N.R.A. and Yorkshire Breeders Association.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Mabel (Mike) Siemion of Spring Lake, Mich.; three sons, Roy (Denise) Mitchell, John (Ellen) Mitchell and Thomas (Cindy) Mitchell, all of Lake Mills; seven grandchildren; seven great-grand-children; a sister, Helen Beamesderfer of Conroe, Texas; three brothers, D. Wallace (Lois) Mitchell of Brookfield, Leslie (Florence) Mitchell of Watertown and Robert (Janice) Mitchell of Pipersville.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 30, 2003; his parents; a brother and a sister, both in infancy.
