Ruth W. E. Lemke

1906 - 2005

 

Ruth W. E. Lemke, 98, of Watertown, died February 6, 2005, at Marquardt Memorial Manor in Watertown.

 

Funeral services were held at the Pederson Funeral Home in Watertown with the Rev. Barbara Berg officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

Ruth was born March 28, 1906, in Wabasha, Minn., daughter of the Rev. Frederick W. and Ruth (Hauser) Lemke. She was a 1928 graduate of Heidelberg College in Tiff in, Ohio, and was a teacher in the Waukesha School District for 34 years.

 

Ruth was a member of Watertown Moravian Church. She was a member of the Philathean Society in Tiffin and a former member of the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ in Waukesha.

 

Surviving are a brother, Arthur Lemke of Evanston, Ill.; a niece, Virginia (Robert) Pattison of Villages, Fla.; other relatives and her special friends, Walter and Irene Vogt, Howard and Helen Zwieg, Phil and Barbara Bongard, and Patty and David Grosenick.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Frederick and Victor Lemke.
