Mrs. Edgar Kuenzi

1892 - 1950

Funeral services for Mrs. Edgar Kuenzi, 57 , 409 South Church Street who died Monday evening while on a visit in Havana, Ill., will be conducted here Friday afternoon.  Services will be at 2 o'clock at the Nowack Funeral home with the Rev. K. A. Timmel of Trinity Lutheran church officiating.   Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

 

Mrs. Kuenzi died of a cerebral hemorrhage while visiting at the home of Dr. and Mrs. John B. Boyd in Havana.  The body arrived in Watertown last evening.

 

She was the former Laura Scherer and was born in the town of Watertown on Dec. 5, 1892, a daughter of William and Marie Scherer.  Her marriage to Mr. Kuenzi took place on June 11, 1915.

 

Surviving are her husband, three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Henry Sauer, this city; Mrs. Harry Naatz, town of Watertown; Mrs. Walter Staude, Whitewater; George Scherer, this city; Walter Scherer, Wauwatosa; and Edward Scherer, Whitewater.

 

An infant son preceded her in death as did another son, Lt. Robert E. Kuenzi, who met death in World War II.  A sister, Mrs. Ben Strauss, also preceded her in death.

 

Mrs. Kuenzi was a member of Trinity Lutheran church and was widely known in this community where she had many friends.

 

The body will lie in state at the funeral home beginning Thursday at 3 p.m. and until the time of the service on Friday.
