Robert Kruesel

1937 - 2008

 

Robert P. Kruesel, 70, of Watertown, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 12, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee.

 

Funeral services will be held at the Hafemeister Funeral Home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Father Thomas Marr of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown officiating.

 

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery  in Watertown.

 

Family and friends may call to pay their respects at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

 

Robert was born in Milwaukee on Aug. 22, 1937, son of Paul and Adeline (Groth) Kruesel.

 

On Feb. 9, 1957, he married Jacquelin J. Reed at St. Joseph's Church in Richwood. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and had been employed at Friskee's Pet Care in Jefferson, retiring after 43 years of employment.

 

Robert was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union.

 

He loved spending time with his grandchildren, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR racing. Robert also loved his dogs, Baby Girl and LuLu.

 

Survivors include his wife, Jacquelin Kruesel of Watertown; his five children, Kimberly Kruesel of Watertown, Thomas (Lisa) Kruesel of Waterloo, Melissa (fiancé, Todd Schultz) Kruesel of Watertown, Nicole (Daniel) Lawton of Waterloo and Patrick Kruesel of Watertown; seven grandchildren, Amanda Lawton, Taylor and Jeremy Brunk, Joseph Schultz, Sarah Kruesel, Courtney and Camerin Kruesel; one great-grandchild, Treyven Brunk; sisters and brothers, Donald (Carol) Kruesel of Watertown, Betty Ann Blasing of Oconto, Richard (Judy) Kruesel of Watertown, Beverly Manke of Watertown and Dennis (Ellen) Kruesel of Tomah; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Robert's parents preceded him in death.
