Kev. D. L. Kolander

1925 - 2003

 

The Rev. Donald E. Kolander, 78, of Watertown, died July 17, 2003, at Marquardt Memorial Manor.

 

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Ervine Vomhof officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Watertown.

 

The Pederson Funeral Home of Watertown is serving the family.

 

Donald was born March 17, 1925, in Marshfield, son of Edward and Ella (Detert) Kolander. He married the former Marlene Albrecht on June 18, 1952, at First Lutheran Church in La Crosse. He served as a Lutheran minister for 38 years, serving the congregations of St. Paul in Valley City, N.D.; Divinity in St. Paul, Minn.; Christ Lutheran in Pewaukee; Gloria Dei in Grand Blanc, Mich.; and Fairview Lutheran in Milwaukee. 

 

He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Watertown.

 

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Kolander of Watertown; a daughter, Kathleen Kolander of Watertown; two brothers, Luther (Bernice) Kolander of Milwaukee and Paul (Grace Louise) Kolander of Waupun; a sister-in-law, Mary Lynn Hole of Deerfield; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in infancy.
