John A. Kaddatz

1908 - 1971

Owner and operator of Albert’s Shoe Store

 

 

John A. Kaddatz, 63, 501 Dewey Avenue, died Wednesday afternoon at Watertown Memorial Hospital following an apparent heart attack.

 

The rescue squad of the Watertown Fire Department was called at 11:19 a.m. to his place of business, Albert’s Shoe Store, 114 Main Street, to administer oxygen to him.  He was taken to the hospital by the Meyer and Son Ambulance Service where he later died.

 

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Walter A. Schumann officiating.  Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.   Friends may call to pay their respects at the Hafemeister Funeral Home on Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. and Saturday up to 10 a.m.  The body will lie in state at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of services.

 

Kaddatz was born March 26, 1908 in the town of Clyman, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert F. Kaddaz.  He was a resident of Watertown all his life, and was the owner and operator of Albert’s Shoe Store for the past 18 years.  Prior to that he was a mason contractor with his father.

 

On May 1, 1929 he was married to Anita Heide of Watertown.  She survives as do one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Kay) Uhlhorn of Pardeville, one son, J. Kenneth of Fort Atkinson, five grandchildren, Tod and James Kaddatz of Fort Atkinson, and Debra, Wayne and Ann Uhlhorn of Pardeville, and other relatives.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Kurt Lee.
