FORMER BUSINESS MAN IS STRICKEN

 

Alexander T. Jaeger, 79, resident of the Jefferson County Home, died at the Veterans Administrative Hospital in Madison on Monday.

 

He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Jaeger and was born in Watertown on 28 September 1886.  He was a partner in the Jaeger Milling Company until his retirement in 1955.  On 25 June 1926 he married Eleanor Lange, who survives him.

 

Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. JoAnne Schmitz of Stanford, California, two grandchildren; one brother, Arthur of Portland, Oregon, and one sister, Mrs. Esther Sommers of San Bernardino.  Two brothers, Ernst and Herbert preceded him in death.

 

Mr. Jaeger was a member of St Mark's Lutheran Church, the American Legion, VFW, and a former member of the Wethonkitha Club.  He was a veteran of WWI.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Schmutzler Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry E. Paustian officiating. 

 

Interment will be in the Oak Hill cemetery.  Military rites will be held at the grave under the auspices of the American Legion.
