Helen Herold

1910 - 2004

 

Helen M. Herold, 94, of Watertown, died September 9, 2004, at Beverly Terrace in Watertown.

 

Funeral services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Watertown with Pastor Neil Rand officiated. Burial was Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown.

 

Hafemeister Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

She was born July 13, 1910, in Janesville, son of George and Elizabeth (Vohs) Shook. She married Arthur Herold on March 5, 1932, at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Watertown. 

 

Helen had been employed at Glenn's Manufacturing in Watertown for many years as a seamstress. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Watertown and the Watertown Senior Center. She enjoyed reading her Bible, sewing and playing Scrabble.

 

Survivors include one son, Harley (Delores) of Watertown; nine grandchildren, Robert (Cheryl) Herold, Harley Jr. (Laurie) Herold, Debra (Brent) Carlson, Donna Oestreicher, Laurie (Joseph) Haberkorn, Susan (Rob) Kilday, David Herold, James (Susan) Herold and Linda Marquette; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, George Shook of Watertown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; her husband, Arthur Herold on Dec. 2, 1983; and two sisters, Margaret Bonke and Eleanor Shook.
