Matthew J. Gunning, 80, of Watertown, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at Marquardt Memorial Manor.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Larson officiating.
Matthew was born on June 15, 1930, in Watertown, the son of Robert and Lorna (Miller) Gunning. He married Evelyn Zubke at Immanuel Lutheran Church on May 19, 1956.
Matthew was a 1948 graduate of Watertown High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He worked at three different factories in Watertown before retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Matthew, who was an avid hunter, loved bird watching and reading.
