Mrs. Charles Glatzel

1880- 1956

Mrs. Charles Glatzel, 75, 301 Lynn Street, died Sunday morning at St. Mary’s Hospital.  She had undergone surgery on May 4.

 

The former Mary Grossert, she was born Oct. 20, 1880, in, this city, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Grossert, and was a lifelong resident of Watertown, receiving her education in the city schools.  She married Mr. Glatzel, Watertown cigar maker, who at one time was alderman for the 13th ward.  He preceded her in death Feb. 28, 1940.  Mrs. Glatzel was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

 

Surviving are a son, Norman, Waukesha; a sister, Mrs. Clara Usher, Milwaukee; a brother, William this city; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  A son, Clarence, preceded her in death in 194G.

 

The funeral will take place Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Schmutzler Funeral Home, the Rev. O. H. Wonn officiating.  Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
