Gertrude Gaston

1918 - 2006

 

Gertrude E. Gaston, 87, of Watertown, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at Watertown Memorial Hospital.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Kathleen Kasper officiating.

 

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

The Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family.

 

Gertrude was born Sept. 2, 1918, in Oconomowoc, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Broetzmann) Notbohm. On Aug. 26, 1948, she married John W. Gaston and he preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 2001.

 

She had been employed at Carnation Corp. in Oconomowoc. Gertrude was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Saturday Club and a former member of the Watertown Country Club. She enjoyed playing bridge.

 

Survivors include a sister, Viola (Quentin) Douglas of Oconomowoc; two nephews Keith (Mary Schneider) Notbohm and Tom (Heidi) Notbohm both of Madison; a niece, Linda (Dale) Reimer of Ixonia; other relatives and friends.

 

She was further preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Herbert, Karl and Franklin Notbohm and sisters, Louise, Hertha and Lena Notbohm.
