Helen M. Foulke

1929 - 2019

 

Helen M. Foulke, 89, of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown with Rev. Jeffrey Meyer officiating.  Family and friends may gather at the church from noon until the time of service.

 

Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown.  Memorials, if desired, may be directed to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, American Heart Association or Rainbow Hospice. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family.

 

Helen Marie Krakow was born on Nov. 2, 1929, to Herbert and Ilona (nee Preinfalk) Krakow in Milford.  She attended Heitz Grade School and graduated from Watertown High School in 1947.  Helen continued her education at Columbia County Normal School and Scarritt College for Christian Workers, where she earned her BA and MA degrees.  She was employed as the director of Christian education and clerk typist in Waupaca County.

 

On Aug. 11, 1968, Helen married Francis Foulke in Fond du Lac.  Helen was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, American Association of University Women, UW Health Partners, and Watertown Regional Medical Center Volunteers.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting and cross-stitching, playing bridge, and spending quality time with her family.

 

She is survived by her stepsons, Paul (Kay) Foulke of Sparta, Charles (Jan) Foulke of Ridgefield, Washington; stepgrandchildren, Scott (Dawn) Foulke, David Foulke, Michelle (Joshua) Karlin, Jesse Foulke, Scott Moser, Tracy Moser; stepgreat-grandchildren, Teagen Foulke, Aidan Foulke, Bailey Foulke, Gwynedd Foulke, Ayala Karlin, Samara Karlin; siblings, Viona (Edgar) Steinsick of Houston, Texas, Wilma Christian of Watertown, John (Patricia) Krakow of Fort Atkinson, Richard (Rosalie) Krakow of Watertown; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Foulke; parents; brother-in-law, Ralph Christian; and sister-in-law, Nellie Krakow.
