Susan Jane Foltz

1953 - 2008

 

Susan Jane Foltz, 54, of Watertown, passed away January 24, 2008, at her home surrounded by family after a courageous two-year battle with ovarian cancer.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Watertown with the Rev. Allan Kranz officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

Visitation will take place prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church.

 

Memorials, if desired, would be appreciated to First Baptist Church or Marquardt Hospice Care, both of Watertown.

 

The Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family.

 

The former Susan Jane Memering was born on Feb. 9, 1953, in Hartford City, Ind., daughter of the Rev. Odin and Helen (Sanders) Memering.  She married Stephen Neal Foltz on April 28, 1973, in Delphi, Ind., with her father officiating the ceremony.

 

Susan was a stay-at-home mother and grandmother, and was employed part-time at the Jock Shop in Watertown until it closed. She was also an active member and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church. Susan loved antiquing for Mr. Peanut and Watertown items that she and her husband, Steve, collected. She was an avid Chicago Bears fan. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and working in her yard.

 

She is survived by her husband, Stephen of Watertown; a son, Gregory (Erin) of Watertown; a daughter, Emily of Wauwatosa; two grandchildren, Taylor and Ella Foltz of Watertown; a brother, John Memering of Melbourne, Fla.; and a sister, Molly Ann Allen of Las Vegas, Nev.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Odin Robert Memering. ‘
