Roger T. Eberle

1890 - 1912

 

 

Roger T. Eberle, son of Postmaster H. T. Eberle and wife, died at 8 o'clock on Saturday evening, November 9, 1912, at the home of his parents in Clyman Street.  

 

Deceased was born March 20, 1890, in this city, where he lived, and was educated, till 1907, when he graduated from the Watertown High School and then attended the Wisconsin University three years, after which he was employed at Deer Lodge, Montana, and in Chicago by the C. M. & St. P. Ry. Co.

 

In November, 1911, he went to McComb, Mississippi, where he was employed by the Illinois Central Railway.

 

In August last he contracted malaria there and then came home, since which time a complication of diseases set in, the final cause of death being heart trouble.  During his long illness he received the devoted attention of his father and mother and other members of his family and all things possible were done to stay the hand of death.

 

Had his health not failed him his future seemed bright and prosperous, for he was well equipped educationally, socially and in temperament to make life a success.  He was a great favorite with a large acquaintance in Watertown and all sincerely mourn his death as that of one of Watertown's best young men.

 

Tuesday afternoon his funeral took place at 3 o'clock from St. Paul's Episcopal church.  The interment was in Oak Hill cemetery.
