Hugh Daw

1870 - 1916

 

Burial noted in Watertown Gazette, 03 02 1916, but entry not found in Oak Hill Cemetery Interment Ledger

 

Hugh Draw died suddenly at his home at No. 11 Main Street last Friday.  At about 11:30 a.m. he had a cerebral hemorrhage and died in about three hours afterwards. 

 

Deceased was born in Little Munden Rectory, Hartfordshire, England, on May 22, 1870, and when 17 years old came to America and settled in Waterloo, this county, where he engaged in the dray business.  About eight years ago he removed here with his family. 

 

His wife, formerly Miss Matie Donovan, and his daughters, Marion and Aileen, survive him.  His mother and a number of brothers and sisters live in England. 

 

His funeral took place from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
