Richard Buchholz

1942 - 2005

 

Richard R. Buchholz Sr., 62, of Watertown, died January 17, 2005, at his home following an apparent heart attack.

 

Funeral services were held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. David K. Groth officiating.

 

Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

The Pederson Funeral Home of Watertown served the family. Memorials were suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Watertown.

 

Richard was born Oct. 25, 1942, in Appleton, son of Arnold, and Selma (Graunke) Buchholz. He married the former Karen Zier on Oct. 9, 1965, in Watertown.

 

Richard had worked for the street department and recycling center in the city of Watertown for 30 years, retiring in 2000. He was a 1960 graduate of Watertown High School and served in the United States Air Force for two years in Germany. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Watertown.

 

Surviving are his wife, Karen Buchholz of Watertown; a son, Richard (Ruth) Buchholz Jr. of Watertown; a daughter, Lisa Buchholz of Beaver Dam; four grandchildren, Brittany and Brooke Buchholz, Mitchell Tietz and Rafael Buchholz; a sister, Barbara (Dennis) Luke of Pewaukee; a sister-in-law, Judi (LeLand) Knope of Watertown; a number of nieces, nephews,. other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.
