Former Florist Is Stricken
George Benke, a widower, of 1415 Davis Street, passed away of infirmities of age at Clearview, Juneau, last night.
He was born in Watertown Feb. 8, 1878. His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter J Benke. He lived most of his life in Watertown. For 28 years he operated Benke Brothers Greenhouses, now the Watertown Floral. He married Helen Henning in October 1910 in Milwaukee.
Mr. Benke is survived by three sisters, Mrs. John Martin Watertown; Mrs. Charles Berg California, Mrs. Samuel Muehl Milwaukee; one brother, Henry Watertown. Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
He was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church.
Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
