Mrs. Thurwald (Gertrude) Bender, 79, 1141 Hus Drive, died Sunday
morning at Watertown Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will
be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The former Gertrude
Jaeger was born 10 May 1906 in Fairfield Co, Connecticut. She was the adopted daughter of Otto and
Rose Jaeger. On 13 July 1930 she
married the Rev Thurwald Bender at the Baptist Church
in Lebanon. She was a member of the
First Baptist Church and a member of AARP 2007.
Survivors include her
husband; one daughter Mrs. Walter (Jean) Lining, Spokane, Washington; 3 sons,
Robert, Hazel Crest, Illinois, James, Clarendon, Illinois, and Charles (Carol),
Endwell, New York; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
