1910 Wisconsin House Damaged by Fire
03 11 Shortly before 1 o’clock Saturday morning the Fire Department was called out by a fire at the Wisconsin House at the corner of Main and 5th streets, an alarm being sent in from box 21. The damage to building is about $1500 and $600 to contents. The Wisconsin House is conducted by J. W. Oliver, who reports that when closed for the night everything seemed to be all right. All the occupants of the house escaped without injury, but on the arrival of the Fire Department Robert Weatherby, the bartender, was found asleep in his room, which was filled with smoke. He was aroused from his slumbers and taken out by fireman Gustav Doerr and other firemen, who climbed a ladder to the window of his room. WG
