At the meeting of the city council Tuesday evening Mayor Charles A. Kading appointed Frank McLaughlin weed commissioner. Frank served in that office before and was the best weed commissioner the city has ever had. Mayor Kading made an excellent appointment. Frank makes people cut weeds whether they have ferocious bulldogs or Canadian thistles with points like pike-poles to use as weapons against him or not. If you have noxious weeds on your premises this year and Frank calls on you to cut them, do not set your dog on him, for he has an automatic six-shooter and the poor dog will have to suffer as well you by the loss of the dog.
