Sesquicentennial Celebration, 1987

 

1987

07 31       If the weather is satisfactory, 20 colorful hot-air balloons will adorn the sky during Watertown’s sesquicentennial celebration.  The riders for the flights on Saturday are requested to report to the field between the Riverside Park volleyball courts and Marquardt Manor at 5 p.m.  Weather permitting, liftoff will commence at 6 p.m.

 

The sponsors and riders for the balloon flights will include: Ben Franklin Store, Georgia Miller; Watertown Bowl 18, Jack Biefeld; Marquardt Memorial Manor, Boyd Flater; Valley Bank, Dave Hanson; Watertown Travel, Abby Potter; Dean Witter Reynolds, Art Turke; Dr. William H. Reed, Jeanne Reed; Frank Witt, self-sponsorship; Uniform Station, Sandy Koller; Becker Trophies, Jim Becker; Watertown Daily Times, Tom Schultz; Kathy Clark, Dennis Clark; Judy’s Restaurant, Becky May; Chickens Unlimited, Jerry Zautner; Balistreri’s Restaurant, Chuck Balistreri; Bruce and Dorothy Kasten, Dorothy Kasten; Koplin Excavating, Dick Wicker; and Mimi’s Hallmark, Marie Gebel.   WDT
