Esther P. Platz

1909 - 2012

 

Esther P. Platz, age 103, of Watertown, passed away on Saturday morning, Nov. 10, 2012, at Marquardt Memorial Manor in Watertown.

 

A private graveside service was held today at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown with the Rev. Michael Jensen of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown officiating.

 

The former Esther Pauline Prahl was born on Oct. 12, 1909, in Watertown the daughter of August and Louise (Fehrmann) Prahl. On June 26, 1927, she married Marvin Platz at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon.

 

Esther is survived by three daughters, Genny (Mylan) Voss of Oconomowoc, Lorraine Knaack and Carol Lopez both of Watertown; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Platz of Watertown; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin on Oct. 15, 1986; a son, Kenneth; a daughter, Marilyn Buss; one brother and seven sisters.
