word this week that his father died on September 5th at his home in
Switzerland, aged 75 years. The many
friends of Mr. Feisst sympathize with him in his
bereavement. WG

Melzer’s was located at the site of the
present C. A. Feisst Co. liquor store, South Third
and Market Streets.
The store then was of a different
type. One had to climb a few stairs to
get into the building. It was operated
by the late Max Melzer who served for many years as
secretary of the old Watertown Businessmen’s Association, a forerunner of the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Melzer,
in addition to a line of grocers, handled many types of seeds and the place was
known far and wide.
